SANDS OF TIME

Sands of Time is a collection that explores growth, self discovery, and the way people’s past affects who they become. Through reconstructed silhouettes, layered textures, and hand crafted details. This project examines how time shapes your identity. Each garment is re built from reclaimed materials, giving new life to pieces that have already lived and transformed; this mirrors the narrative of the collection itself.

INSPIRATION

This project is inspired by The Alchemist. At its core we observe themes of personal legend, an inner journey, and transformation. Like the protagonist in this novel, the collection reflects the idea that every experience wether good or bad, it becomes a part of your story. Pushing you closer to your purpose. I would describe the visual language of this collection as a combination of shifting sands, weathering surfaces, and spiritual journeys informing the mood and the construction of the garments.

DESIGN PROCESS

The design process combined conceptual research with hands on experimentation. Early sketches explored silhouettes shaped by erosion, layering, and movement. Also the process of prototyping garments helped refine structure and proportion. Through draping, deconstruction, patch working, and iterative sampling; each piece evolved naturally. Shaped by intuition, problem solving, and the tactile qualities of the materials themselves. This collection grew organically over time, just like the theme it represents. Everything unfolded within and beyond time.

SUSTAINABILITY

Sustainability is embedded at the core of Sands of Time. Reusing denim, and discarded textiles allowed this project to reflect the beauty of objects that have lived before. Every detail carries texture, character, and history. By reconstructing upcycled materials, Sands of Time challenges the idea of “newness” and emphasizes the value of transformation. Proving that fashion can be a form of everyday expression, that is deeply personal at the same time as being materialistic.

CONCLUSION

Sands of Time is more than a collection; it’s a visual diary of growth, reflection, and becoming the best version of yourself. It represents the belief that clothing can hold emotion, stories, and memory. Evolving with each wearer just as people evolve through their own journeys.
